Scott Stratman

I received my B.S. in Engineering Physics in 2003.  Upon graduation I was commissioned in the U.S. Navy via the Miami University NROTC program, where I have been a Naval Aviator for the past seven years.  I began my career in Pensacola, FL for initial flight training, and have since lived in Texas, California, Virginia Beach and Fallon, NV.  The critical thinking skills I was able to acquire through my experiences in the Physics program no doubt enabled me to succeed to the highest levels of Naval Aviation, where I am fortunate enough to fly F/A-18F Super Hornets, accumulating nearly 1,000 hours and just shy of 200 day and night carrier landings.  I have completed one deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom flying off of USS Harry S. Truman and one deployment to Afghanistan attached to an Air Force unit tasked with providing air expertise to the ground forces.

I have very fond memories of my time at Miami and I am always excited to read about the new developments taking place in and around the campus.
